Mauricio Romero:
Welcome to the 1st episode of Studio Databranding, a podcast about the art & strategy of visual storytelling. I'm your host, Mauricio Romero, and I'm fortunate to have Charley Brooks as my co-host.

Charley Brooks:
Hello, Mauricio. Hi Everyone! It's a joy to embark on this journey with you. Today, we're diving deep into the very essence of why we started this journey.

Mauricio Romero:
And Charley, talking about that...after helping clients through the years, what do you feel is the main misconception or problem you detect with marketing today?

Charley Brooks:
Well, it's a good problem to have -- new technologies popping up every day, right? We love that as content creators! Fresh & exciting ways to tell a brand's story. But, the bigger problem is that marketing teams are feeling overwhelmed, heavily stressed, and feeling burned out from chasing tech trends.

Mauricio Romero:
Right, in the rush to adopt the latest tactics -- they want to be on the latest social media platform, they want to use the latest technology for their website, but we often forget about the foundational principles of marketing.  When you have so many options, the only real way to go is to go back to those principles. To understand how humans connect, how we make decisions and why we're connecting with brands.

Charley Brooks:
Exactly that, Mauricio.  That's why we launched this podcast. Let's talk about the art & strategy of visual storytelling. Let's get a conversation going about best-in-class principles of marketing and how to successfully combine that with all the tech available today. Our guests on the show will be sharing their stories of marketing successes & challenges and propel this dynamic conversation forward.

Mauricio Romero:
Yes, and we want our listeners to know that we've been in the marketing industry since 1997.  Both Charley and I have our roots in the film industry. I've directed national commercials and produced campaigns for globally known brands.  Charley comes from the physical production side of the business. Our backgrounds give us a unique perspective on visual storytelling and client servicing for brands.

Charley Brooks:
Absolutely! 30 years in Los Angeles...Worked with indie studios and major media giants, and served in leadership marketing roles for music collectives and audio post facilities. I've created thousands of pieces of social media content and run campaigns for billion-dollar real estate portfolios, so yeah, I've gained some perspective about the craft of visual storytelling.

Mauricio Romero:
Yes, and positioning those brands for success in the marketplace! Studio Databranding isn't just a podcast. Databranding is our full-service digital marketing agency.
