reasons for inbound marketing databrandingLet's face it, your customers are not interested in your company, they are interested in solving their problem. When you are looking to hire a service or buy a product, you are looking to solve a personal need, not the benefit of the company that offers it.

So... how do you get the client know you? How do you manage to approach a client who is looking for what you have but is not interested in your company itself?

Easy as pie! do not promote or sell your company or product rather, focus on the client and his needs.

Create a relationship of trust with him, make him fall in love with your product and your company just because you knew how to meet his needs and not those of your company (at least not directly, as traditional marketing or Outbound Marketing does).

Yes, the key is in changing your focus. Why do we say it works? Well, here are our:

5 Reasons Why your Company needs Inbound Marketing

1.- It is less expensive, compared to Outbound Marketing

  • It makes use of digital methods which, although they have a cost, it will always be lower compared to traditional methods, such as: producing and paying airtime for TV and radio advertising; designing and paying for billboards set at the best sites; hiring people to make calls 24/7; creating brochures and hiring staff to distribute them ... Yes, theInbound Marketing has a cost but it will never be as high as the Outbound Marketing. Even better, according to a study conducted by HubsSpot, this marketing-per-client cost ratio favors the Inbound Marketing strategy over the Outbound one. The following graph shows what a customer costs to the company according to each marketing strategy (Inbound or Outbound).

  • Being a method that focuses on customers who are already interested in your product (they already did a specific search on the internet in which you appeared as a result), there is no waste of resources in "potential" clients. It is all invested in those clients who are already interested in your product and who will eventually be willing to pay the price of your brand thanks to the content that you offered on your web site, since it will show and explain its value. In a few words, these clients came to you and you did not waste any time looking for them. Your job was to delight them with your content, which made them linger a little longer thanks to its good quality and information.
  • It offers immediate measurable results (analytics). This allows you to work on your strategy on time. With Outbound Marketing, you do not know if the client came to you due to a TV or radio commercial, or if it was because of a billboard or a brochure. On the other hand, with Inbound Marketing, you can see which of your many efforts are effectively working so that you focus more on these and not waste your attention on what does not work. Again, there is no waste, it is a focused, waste-free, strategy.

2.- You focus on your client, not your product

  • The fact that they are the ones who approached your web site in order to know more (and it wasn't your company chasing them with unsolicited publicity), allows you to share with them more in-depth information about your product or service, depending on the information that they each are looking and asking for (and not just give them a quick glance at it, like you would with a billboard or commercial).
  • There is a more direct relationship with the client thanks to the e-mails that you can both exchange. This direct mean of communication also favors feedback, which translates into very useful information for your company. Being able to listen from your client's about the improvements that you need to make, gives you a map for finding success, since you will be truly solving their problems and... who doesn't like that? they'll love your company!

In a few words, you share information that your clients are already looking for and they, of course, will appreciate all the transparent, clear, in-depth and well done information that you can provide so that they can make the best purchasing decision. They will also be grateful that you didn't interrupt them with unsolicited publicity.

Why is all this good for your company?

  1. Because you generate greater credibility thanks to the experience that you show with the content that you share with them.
  2. Because the relationship with your client becomes more solid, which translates into:
  • Loyalty towards your company
  • The client will be willing to pay for your product, since he will understand the real value that it has thanks to the information you gave him
  • Person-to-person recommendation. When your client trusts you, he recommends you, and there is no better publicity than the person-to-person recommendation. How many times have we not showed up at a small and unknown restaurant just because it was recommended to us by a friend? Exactly.

3.- Your competition is already using Inbound Marketing (or at least some of its tools)

But don't you worry, you can still do something about it:

  • Tools is not the same as strategy. Many companies believe that because they make use of digital tools, they are doing Inbound Marketing, but they're not. All these strategies must be guided under a specific Inbound Marketing comprehensive strategy, with the specific direction and methodology of this kind of marketing. Lucky for you, not all companies are doing the whole Inbound Marketing strategy, they are just using some of their tools.
  • Your competition may be only using online advertising, which is probably saturating the client already and, we insist, that is not Inbound Marketing. You do not need to add more publicity to the chaos of information that already exists on the internet. There are many distractions in the network, you want to do the opposite, you want to take advantage of the attention they are already paying to something, with the right content.
  • Start doing Inbound Marketing! better late than never.

4.- You want to be the best option

Do you want to appear in Google's first results? Do you want to have authority before search engines and clients? The more visitors your page has and, the more time that they spend on it, Google will increasingly value your web page better and better, and have you as the answer that people actually want to get and thus, you will gain a great position in Google's results. This is Inbound Marketing. Yes, we assume you do want to be there.

5.- You can see results in the short and long term

The content that you have created does not go away rather, it grows and accumulates with time, which in the long term translates into a well nurtured page that will make your visitors want to stay and have a good time researching on it. In other words, with time and perseverance, you will be putting together a whole library of information that both the client and Google will appreciate and reward you for it.
